BRIEF JOB DUTY DESCRIPTION:

Support military transmission Engineering programs on-site and at vendor locations.  Functional work assignments will include Project lead responsibilities, problem investigation, component  design, redesign, and miscellaneous project engineering support. Past experience in design or development of transmissions and projects would be a plus.

 

LIST KEY ELEMENTS OF POSITION

 

  1. Knowledge of the shop floor, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and proficiency in working with each during problem resolutions.
  1. Ability to successfully complete manufacturing problem resolution including organizing, investigating, and project planning with various manufacturing and engineering groups.
  2. General transmission knowledge and ability to learn military transmission technology.
  3. Blue print interpretation and expertise, including Geometric Tolerancing.
  4. Lead Project Engineering design and test programs
  5. Preparation and presentation of engineering design and test projects.
  6. Complete engineering analysis and documentation for design change requests
  7. Assist in cost reductions activities and implement cost effective designs and systems.
  8. Analyzes design and reliability problems and initiates correct actions.
  9. Component sourcing activity support.
  10. Ability to communicate technically and independently with suppliers, government and Allison in-house customer.
  11. Ability to successfully conduct Mechanical Design and analysis of transmission systems and components.

 

LIST CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Skills Required:

  1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  2. Minimum of 5 years experience
  3. Excellence in written and spoken English
  4. Experience using Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  5. Interpersonal skills to work effective in a team environment
  6. Ability to read blueprints
  7. Ability to communicate technical issues to varied audiences
  8. Targets and achieves results, sets challenging goals, prioritizes tasks, provides leadership/motivation.
  9. Ability to work overtime
  10. Willingness and ability to travel  (Note:  Requires availability of credit card for hotel and plan reservations.)

 

Skills Preferred:

  1. MSME
  1. Experience in stress and fatigue life analysis
  2. Experience in failure analysis technology
  3. Unigraphics and CAD experience
  4. Experience with SAP
